Bookkeeping & Accounting Firm Owners: Add $100K in NEW Recurring Revenue in the Next 9-12 Months, Using the Client Data You Already Have
The 4-step framework for adding a monthly cash flow service to your firm. No new credential required, even if you've never given a client business advice.
Save My SeatHere's what we'll cover:
Three keys that turn the data you already use into a new source of revenue

PART01
PART 1 · THE FRAMEWORK
The 4-step Cash Flow Framework.
The EnemyYou close the month, it balances, and you send the report. It's the same report every firm sends, which is why you're competing on price.
The SolutionAssess, Analyze, Forecast, Advise. It's the framework I use with my own fractional CFO clients, and the first two steps use only data already in your client's accounting system. Plus a live hot seat: bring one client's cash flow problem, no names, and watch step one run in real time.
The ProofKingdom Story Company's revenue forecast went to zero on March 13, 2020. A weekly cash flow forecast got them through the year, and they went on to make many more films.
"Brian joined our company during a time when we were in a cycle of cash flow crises. In the time Brian has been with us, he has taught us lasting principles." Josh Walsh, Kingdom Story Company

PART 2 · WHAT IT'S WORTH
Price It So They Can See the Difference
The Enemy"They're just my bookkeeper." A conclusion your client reached, with your invoice as the evidence.
The SolutionHow to figure out what the work is worth before you name a number, then package and price a cash flow service so your client can see it's different from what you do now.
The ProofI helped two partners go from $200,000 in the bank to $2.3 million in 18 months, and I underpriced it badly. I'll show you what I'd charge today, and why.
"Serving your clients well and charging what the work is worth were never opposites."

Part03
PART 3 · THE MATH
Seven Clients to $100K
The EnemyThe only growth plan anyone ever gave you was "get more clients," which buys revenue with your evenings.
The SolutionSeven clients at $1,200 a month more is $100,800 a year in new recurring revenue. Upgrade one or two clients you already have, then add five or six new ones at the new rate. Seven, not seventy.
The ProofAfter my first bookkeeping client's cash went up $107,000 in 60 days, I tripled my minimum monthly rate. Same kind of work. I finally understood what it was worth.
"One of the biggest opportunities I see for bookkeepers and accountants right now is learning how to provide more value from the financial data you already have."
Check YES if:

- Yes, my most demanding client is often the one paying me the least.
- Yes, I've thought "I'd love to offer advisory, but I don't know where to start."
- Yes, I want to charge more per client without adding hours to my week.
- Yes, I want a repeatable system, not another list of ideas I'll never install.

About your host
I'm Brian Woodland, and I help bookkeeping and accounting firm owners add cash flow advisory to what they already do, and charge properly for it.
On paper: 31 years in accounting and finance. 23 of those in corporate, everything from startups with no revenue to multinational divisions of GE and Emerson Electric. More than 17 years in manufacturing, 12 in motion pictures and streaming. The last 8 running my own small business advisory firm, Accord Advisors. I've also taught as an adjunct instructor at Webster University, which is probably the part that shows up the most when I teach this.
I didn't always have this figured out. I started where you started, in high school accounting, filling out green ledger sheets by hand and loving that everything balanced to the penny. And I spent a long stretch of my career pricing by the hour and undercharging badly. In one 18-month engagement I helped a client add $2 million of cash, going from $200,000 in the bank to $2.3 million, and I charged about $100,000 for it. I'd price that at double today. I didn't feel confident enough at the start, so I didn't.
Then came March 13, 2020. I was the fractional CFO for a film company whose movie opened the day the country shut down. I watched a forecast go to zero and spent the rest of that year keeping a company alive with a weekly cash flow forecast. It was all cash flow. That's when this got personal.
What I believe: the value you're already providing your clients is worth more than what you're charging for it. Loving your clients well and charging what that work is worth were never opposites.
